• Agapogo — an ancient horned serpent who lives in the underground lakes of the Underworld. He becomes Alice's friend and guide during her journey beneath the mountains.

• Tael Morh is the ancient Miner name for dragons. Alice discovers that Agapogo, believed to be a giant water serpent, is actually one of the Tael Morh.

• Arg-tael Morhan is a phrase in the ancient Miners' language meaning "Dragon must fly." When Alice speaks these words, Agapogo responds in a way that reveals his true nature.
